Hotel “La Estación”

I almost don’t want to say anything because it’s such a treasure but if you’re looking for an affordable place (and if you know SMA, you know affordable isn’t the priority for most) this is it. Friendly staff, comfy accommodations. Slightly small rooms but for the price you need not complain and there is an incredible cafe on site and another absolutely delicious restaurant in the complex.

It is right next to the bus station. Very convenient for my purposes but if you want to be in Centro then this is a decent walk to Centro. The staff here were absolutely the best. The rooms are dayed but good and very clean. It's a good value. I would definitely stay there again.

Service was great, rooms are clean and spacious. Very glad we stayed here, I would recommend!

I stayed 3 nights and greatly enjoyed it. The restaurant is convenient for my breakfast before heading out. Its a bit of a walk to the sights which is good exercise. The nice part is far less traffic then being near the square. The dollar value is very high and i will stay here again when i return. My room was clean and comfortable with a great shower. They also have a nice parking area and to round it out that staff was very friendly and helpful. My balcony was facing the street and i had no problem with noise and i enjoyed the view.

Next to bus station and bus stop to go into San Miguel. Everything is walking distance or take the city bus. Hotel is nice and simple. Old school rooms and smaller than normal. Nice and quiet.

Great location, right next to the bus station and only a few blocks of the historic downtown. The only problem is the all the noise of cars and trucks coming from the street all night. The room was very clean.

I stayed at the Hotel La Estacion one night. It was okay. It was fine. But that's really all I could say about it. It wasn't great, but it was fine. I kind of expected more for what I paid (990 pesos), but I suspect San Miguel is an expensive town. One hight point was the water pressure in the shower. It made me feel like I was in a hurricane. One low point was the air conditioning - come to think of it, it might have been just a fan. It took until the middle of the night to cool down the room. It might just have been that it cooled off outside. But, it is close to the bus station, and it was fine.

I stayed here several days while in SMA. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s very well kept, clean, and the staff is friendly. The showers were ample and hot water reliable. It’s about a mile away from the city center so most days I walked. When I was feeling lazy or it was a little too hot I took a cab for $50MEX (approx. US$2.5). I’m one of those travelers who would rather save on hotels and spend my money in food and drinks instead and this place was perfect for that. There’s a laundromat 5 minutes away that’s independently operated, but if you drop your clothes off in the morning they’ll deliver them to the hotel on the same day.
